      • UNRAAVEL Strategy

A reading comprehension strategy that we use quite often. Please make sure to work through the strategies included on this chart. Please pay careful attention to the LAST THREE strategies-- they are often the most helpful ones to use.

      • What is Fluency?

Fluency is defined as the ability to read with speed, accuracy, and proper expression. When reading aloud, fluent readers read in phrases and add intonation appropriately. Their reading is smooth and has expression. As children progress into upper grades, the volume of reading required escalates dramatically. Fluency becomes increasingly important, in order to avoid sounding choppy or awkward.
