Over the course of the school year, students will:

    • Learn key concepts over multiple days to foster a deeper understanding of each topic
    • Solve problems using a variety of strategies to increase their math flexibility
    • Share their mathematical thinking and problem solving strategies with classmates helping to solidify their learning
    • Make connections to the math they see in everyday life

    iReady diagnostic

The iReady diagnostic is part of the online program that helps teachers identify each student’s needs and which skills they need to develop in order to personalize their learning and monitor progress throughout the school year. The diagnostic delivers actionable data that helps me to meet your child exactly where they are and increase their learning gains.

    The diagnostic:

    • Provides each student’s grade level equivalent in math
    • Provides just-in-time instruction that is responsive to individual student needs
    • Engages students with relevant challenges and provides pathways to deepen understanding.
    • Enables students to advance quickly once they master a skill, building their confidence and maximizing engagement
    • Presents real-world problems that help students understand the “why” behind the “how”
    • Builds internal motivation with Learning Games.

    Tips/Suggestions:

    • Each lesson is divided into multiple sections.
    • The last session of each lesson is called the Refine page. These questions are almost identical to the type of questions on the lesson quizzes. All questions on the Refine pages have similar questions to refer to for assistance in previous sessions. Students should reference previous questions/examples if they need help with any of the questions. Student should study the Refine page questions for each quiz,
    • At the end of each unit there’s a unit review. These questions are very similar to the questions on the unit practice test
    • Additional practice can be found on IXL. Students need to find the topic area and complete the related activities
    • Students should be working on their iReady pathways multiple times a week to strengthen any areas of weakness identified in the diagnostic test.

** Students are aware of all of this. They are reminded multiple times a week. They are often required to look back in the text to find a similar problem/examples and write down the page and question number as a reference

**When correcting exams, they should look back in their text for similar problems/examples to help them identify their mistakes.
