Hello! My name is Katrina Loftin, and I'm excited to be your School Counselor at Yonkers Montessori Academy. I grew up in Mount Vernon after being born in the Bronx, and I’ve been working as a Professional School Counselor since 2004—hard to believe, but this October marks my 21st year in this rewarding field!

I've had the pleasure of working in several school districts, including NYCDOE and the Mount Vernon City School District, and I’m thrilled to be part of Yonkers Public Schools. I graduated from the wonderful Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, GA, with a Bachelor's in Psychology and went on to earn my Master's in Counseling and Guidance from New York University (NYU). Right now, I'm also studying at Mercy University to get my license in Mental Health Counseling.

Coming from a family of educators, I truly believe in the value of education and the potential each student has to grow and reach their best selves. I can’t wait to get to know you and your scholar this school year! Let’s make it a great one together!
