Expectations

  • 6th Grade Grading Policies

Homework and class work: Homework is given to reinforce daily lessons. Homework will be checked and reviewed in class. A homework grade, based on the percentage of assignments completed, will be averaged into each trimester's report card grade. Missed homework will cause your child's grade to drop. If your child forgets to complete their homework, they can submit it the next school day. If your child fails to complete homework consistently, you will be contacted.

Test: Tests are a major part of your grade! Study Study Study!

Quizzes: Quizzes will be given and can help bring your child's grade up.

Projects: Some of the assignments will be projects. Each of these will count as if they were a test and will be a major part of your grade.

No name on your work: No name, no credit! Take pride in the work you do. It is your responsibility to hand in completed, neat and clearly labeled assignments; this includes your name, the date, and a heading for the assignment.

Absences: It is important to attend class on time every day. Have the phone number of a classmate who you can call if you are absent. All notes, readings and classwork / homework assignments must be made up.  Make-up work is YOUR responsibility!

Math and Science grades will be based on formative and summative assessments in the form of tests, quizzes, projects, and classwork, as well as a homework grade. Traditional and digital assessments and assignments will be utilized.
